STREET LIGHTS
In June 2008, under Washington State's RCW Title 57, CVWD’s Board of Commissioners formed and adopted a street light district.  The street light installation and service is provided to CVWD by Puget Sound Energy.  During the initial phase, the Street Lighting Plan called for the installation of street lights on poles that could accept a lighting arm and were primarily installed on the main thoroughfares to benefit all customers by lighting up the access roads they traveled to their homes.

The second and third phases of the street light installations continued in the spring and summer of 2010.  Two lights were installed on the S-curve of SR547 (Sumas Kendall Highway) and an additional 15 lights were installed in some areas that were not addressed in the first phase.   Phase 4 was completed in the spring of 2011 with over 35 new requested street lights installed in cul-de-sacs.

All customers (except Camper's Paradise) share the cost of electricity by paying $2.00 per month reflected on the monthly billing. The monthly cost will remain the same unless Puget Sound Energy changes their monthly charge.

If you notice a street light that is not operating properly, and it is not due to an emergency circumstance (i.e. flooding, downed power line, earthquake, etc.), please use the form below to report the problem. A customer care representative will contact you within one business day.
